WAKEFIELD, Mass. (July 20, 2010)—Maine Industrial Tire L.L.C. has completed several facility and office realignments that include moving its corporate headquarters from Malden, Mass., to Wakefield.
The company said the move to the new Wakefield location completes Maine Industrial Tire's separation from GPX International Tire Corp.
MITL Acquisition Corp. L.L.C. purchased the solid tire business from GPX for $11 million in February. It then consolidated shared distribution services with Dynamic Tire in Canada and Alliance Tire Group, which took over other GPX assets in GPX's Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The company also opened a new distribution center in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. In addition, it consolidated its Canadian operations into a new office and distribution center in Brampton, Ontario, and plans to source product to all Canadian customers from the new Brampton center.
