PITTSBURGH (July 14, 2010)—Lanxess Corp. won top honors at the annual American Business Awards June 21 in New York for Best Corporate Image Event.
The award, known as the Stevie, was presented to Lanxess in honor of its Unnatural Rubber event at the Andy Warhol Museum, Oct. 14, 2009.
The Unnatural Rubber event capped off the 100th anniversary celebrations of the patenting of synthetic rubber with the unveiling of an art piece commissioned by Lanxess. The piece, titled “Wheel of Fortune,” took the form of a massive 3-D timeline of the production of synthetic rubber over the past 100 years, coated in tire-tread with a specialty tire rim at the end.
In addition to the Stevie Award for Best Corporate Image Event, Lanxess was named a finalist out of more than 2,700 total entries for: Executive of the Year; Communications Department of the Year; Communications, Investor Relations, or PR Executive of the Year; and Best Annual Report – Print.
