RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (June 29, 2010)—Ford Motor Co. will equip its 2011 Ford Fiesta compact in North America, which is being rolled out this summer, with H speed-rated Kumho Solus KH25 passenger tires as an original equipment fitment, according to Kumho Tire USA Inc.
Ford dealers are scheduled to start selling the Fiesta, Ford's new entry-level car, this summer in both a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback versions. Ford is building the compact at its assembly plant in Cuautitlan, Mexico. The Fiesta's OE tire size is P185/60R15.
The Solus KH25 is engineered to provide high performance grip and handling in all weather conditions while delivering long mileage. Kumho claims the tire's quiet, comfortable ride will contribute to the Fiesta's class-leading noise/vibration/harshness levels.
Ford launched this latest iteration of its entry-level Fiesta in Europe in 2008 and rolled it out in Asia in 2009. The firm has sold more than 750,000 of them since, Kumho said.
Kumho also has an OE fitment on Ford's Focus along with a temporary spare fitment on the Escape small sport-utility vehicle.
