EPE, Netherlands (June 28, 2010)—The VMI Group has appointed H.J. Voortman as its president and CEO, effective July 1.
Voortman, who has been with the global tire and rubber equipment maker since 2004, replaces J.J. Spanjer, who is taking over as CEO of the Industrial Manufacturing Division of VMI parent company TKH Group N.V.
In his new position, Voortman will focus on Epe-based VMI's commercial and research and development activities, with responsibility for all business matters within the company's branches in Europe, the U.S., Russia, Brazil, China and Malaysia.
Voortman joined VMI as manager of its projects department and in 2007 was promoted to president of sales and projects, with responsibility for all of VMIs commercial activities.
In a statement, the TKH board said it was “pleased that the succession of the CEO position in realized through a strong internal candidate and we are confident that the continuity in management for the VMI Group is guaranteed.”
