NOKIA, Finland (June 23, 2010)—Nokian Tyres P.L.C. has laid off 56 employees, 19 permanently, at its plant in Nokia.
The tire maker said negotiations with workers at the factory ended June 21, and the cuts instituted. The firm said the reductions balance the facilities production with its shift system.
The plant produces passenger, light truck, truck and bus, off-the-road and industrial tires, and employed an estimated 1,000.
