FINDLAY, Ohio (June 16, 2010)—Scott Cole has been appointed plant manager of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s Texarkana, Ark., tire manufacturing facility, replacing Alex Perry, who is moving to a special assignment on leveraging best practices to become globally competitive.
Cole joined Cooper in 1989 as a co-op and has held several engineering positions of increasing responsibility in truck tire development and plant technical issues, the company said. In 1998, he took a job with Chrysler L.L.C. as launch coordinator and process reliability manager before rejoining Cooper 10 years later as technical manager for the Texarkana factory. He has been responsible for managing tire development, the die shop, tire testing and product introduction, and played an instrumental role in cured scrap and complexity reduction, according to the Findlay-based tire maker.
Cole earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo and a master's degree from the University of Findlay. He also earned Six Sigma green belt certification in 2005, Cooper said.
