NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 9, 2010)—Michael Gorey, president of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations' U.S. & Canada consumer tire sales division since Jan. 1, 2009, has retired after a 27-year career at Bridgestone and Firestone Tire & Rubber Co.
Bridgestone has yet to name a replacement for the position, which was created when the Nashville-based tire maker restructured its North American businesses, changing Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire L.L.C. to Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations L.L.C.
Prior to being named to his last position, Gorey was chairman, CEO and president of Bridgestone Americas' diversified products division, and from 2004-09 vice president and controller. He was chief financial officer of Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire from 2000-03.
Bridgestone did not comment on Gorey's reasons for retiring.
