SCHIPHOL, Netherlands (June 2, 2010)—Yantai Wanhua Polyurethane Co. Ltd., which claims to be the largest producer of MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) in Asia, has increased its prices for the material as of June 1.
The company pointed to high raw material costs, which it said have made margins unsustainable.
As a result, Wanhua Netherlands BV will increase the price of MDI sold in Europe by $245 per metric ton.
This price adjustment applies to all polyurethane market segments.
