TOKYO (May 20, 2010)—Bridgestone Corp. has been named a 2009 supplier of the year by the Boeing for “exceptional commitment to excellence” in working with Boeing.
Bridgestone was one of 14 companies selected from a group of more than 12,000 Boeing suppliers. The selection, Bridgestone said, was based on stringent performance criteria for quality, delivery performance, cost, environmental initiatives, customer service and technical issues.
The award ceremony was April 13 in Seattle, Washington.
Bridgestone supplies aircraft tires for Boeing's 737-900ER. 747, 767 and 777 model aircraft. The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner also is scheduled to go into commission with Bridgestone aircraft tires, the company said.
