HOUSTON-Chan-Koo Park, chairman and CEO of Kumho Asiana Group, is the new president international of the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers.
He succeeds Bruno Pary, senior adviser at ExxonMobil Middle East and Africa, who now is past-president international, the IISRP said. Park will preside over the institute's Annual General Meeting next year in Seoul, South Korea.
Park also is president of the IISRP's Far East Section. Also elected to the Executive Committee for 2010-11, are:
* Far East Section—Koichi Kawasaki, JSR Corp., vice president, and Nobuyuki Takahashi, UBE Industries Ltd., standing member.
* European Section: Sim Elman, Synthos S.A., president, and Abraham Brink, Karbochem (Pty.) Ltd., standing member.
* Americas Section: Felipe Varela, Industrias Negromex S.A. de C.V., president; Ken Hertl, Goodyear Chemical, vice president; and Tim Gorman, ISP Elastomers, standing member.
Pary also is on the committee, along with Treasurer Wei-Hua Tu of TSRC Corp., and James L. McGraw, IISRP managing director, CEO, assistant treasurer and secretary.
