MUSCATINE, Iowa (May 4, 2010)—Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions will increase prices in the U.S. on its Firestone- and Dayton-brand truck tires up to 6 percent on June 1.
Additionally the company, a division of Bridgestone Americas, raised prices up to 6 percent on May 1 on Bandag retread material prices in the U.S.
“Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions continues to look for ways to balance costs and continue to deliver a premium package of value to our dealer and fleet customers,” said Kurt Danielson, BBTS vice president sales and marketing.
“Today, however, we have reached a point where we must increase prices due to the unrelenting escalation of costs outside of our control for energy, fuel and raw materials.”
Bridgestone last raised prices on truck tires Sept. 1, 2008, raising them by up to 10 percent at that time in the U.S. and Canada.
