WAYNE, N.J. (April 16, 2010)—Hankook Tire Canada Corp. recently opened its second distribution center in Richmond, British Columbia.
Hankook now has eight distribution centers serving North America. The newest warehouse will support retailers and multiple distribution points in western Canada, the company said.
“Hankook Tire has experienced great success and a strong presence in western Canada,” said Bill Hume, vice president of Hankook Tire Canada. “We strategically chose the Vancouver region for our second distribution center to better support our retail customers and distributors, expediting our time to market. This new distribution center is an integral part of our growth strategy in Canada and part of our global long-term strategy to become a leading, next-generation tire company.”
Hankook said the facility is expected to significantly reduce lead time for product delivery as the result of a competitive shipping policy that includes pre-paid delivery of qualified orders to direct-account customers.
The Richmond distribution center is the second expansion of Hankook Tire Canada in the last two years. The Canadian head office in Brampton, which also has a distribution center, opened in the spring of 2009.
