DETROIT (April 12, 2010)—North America vehicle production rose 65 percent in March compared with March of 2009.
It was the fifth consecutive month of year-over-year increases. Production for the first quarter was up 70 percent from 2009, according to figures from Automotive News a sister publication of Rubber & Plastics News. March car production rose 75 percent in the U.S., 31 percent in Canada, 64 percent in Mexico and 62 percent in North America.
Truck output rose 59 percent in the U.S., 90 percent in Canada, 94 percent in Mexico and 67 percent in North America. Vehicle output rose 65 percent in the U.S., 57 percent in Canada and 74 percent in Mexico.
