TOKYO (April 9, 2010)—Belgium's prime minister made a stop at Bridgestone Corp.'s headquarters on April 8 during a visit to Japan, speaking with Shoshi Arakawa, chairman, CEO and president of the company, and several other Bridgestone executives.
Prime Minister Yves Leterme was in Japan to attend the opening of the newly constructed Belgium embassy in Tokyo. Bridgestone said his visit to the company's headquarters reflects the close relationship between Belgium and the tire maker, which has its European headquarters, Bridgestone Europe N.V./S.A., in Brussels, the nation's capital.
