FAIRLAWN, Ohio (April 2, 2010)—Omnova Solutions Inc. will increase prices on all acrylic, styrene acrylic and vinyl acrylic emulsion polymers by 4 cents per wet pound, the company announced.
The hike, effective April 15, is for all specialty markets, including coatings, tape & adhesives, floor care, graphic arts, nonwovens, textiles and construction. This increase is necessary because of continuing escalation in key raw materials costs—primarily acrylic monomers—and is in addition to previously announced increases, Onmova said.
The Fairlawn-based firm also is raising prices by 8 cents per dry pound on GenTac-brand vinyl pyridine and GenFlo-brand styrene butadiene latex products sold into the rubber reinforcement market.
That price hike, as allowed by contract, also is effective April 15 and necessitated by the escalation in key raw materials costs.
