WASHINGTON (March 17, 2010)—To further refine its consumer education goals in its proposed standard on tire fuel efficiency, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will hold a public meeting at the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Transportation March 26.
NHTSA is asking interested parties to submit written comments and participate in the meeting on how best for the agency to conduct further consumer research on tire fuel efficiency and its consumer education requirements. Each speaker will have 10 minutes, said the notice in the March 12 Federal Register, although times may be adjusted if there are many requests to speak.
Those wishing to speak at the meeting or attend as a member of the public must provide their names, affiliations, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses to Mary Versailles at NHTSA's Office of International Vehicle, Fuel Economy and Consumer Standards no later than March 22. Versailles may be reached at 202-366-2057 or [email protected]
