BAAR, Switzerland (March 16, 2010)—Sika A.G. subsidiaries in the U.S. and Japan have purchased adhesive businesses.
The company said Sika Corp., based in Lyndhurst, N.J., acquired the automotive glass replacement business of ADCO Products Inc. And in Japan, Sika (Japan) Ltd. purchased the construction sealant business of Henkel Japan Ltd.
The ADCO business posts annual sales of $6 million to $7 million, Sika said. Sika bought the rights to the Titan brand of auto glass adhesives, and the business will be integrated into Sika's aftermarket operations in the U.S. and its industry division in Canada and Latin America.
Baar-headquartered Sika obtained the Bellace and Duribbon trademarks when it bought the Henkel Japan lines, which have annual sales of about $12.3 million, the company said. The sealants are used in the Japanese construction market.
