SHAWBURY, England (March 9, 2010)—Smithers Rapra Ltd. has invested in a video extensometer at its physical testing lab in Shawbury, Shropshire.
The noncontact, video-based instrument can measure 3D displacement and strain on materials, components and structures and increase productivity, the company said.
The video extensometer can be used in batch testing, high-temperature testing, harsh chemical environments, high strain and high-speed impact testing and for small delicate samples, according to the firm.
