BOWIE, Md. (Feb. 18, 2010)—Dick Gust, president of national accounts for Liberty Tire Recycling L.L.C. and a former president of the Tire Industry Association, has been named co-chairman of trade group's new Environmental Advisory Council.
The EAC, which replaces the Bowie-based association's Tire and Rubber Recycling Industry Council, will advise TIA members and others in the tire industry on how to introduce energy-efficient operations, reduce waste, ensure safety, and reuse, repair or recycle tires as much as possible, according to Liberty Tire.
Pittsburgh-based Liberty Tire claims to be the largest provider of tire recycling services in the U.S., processing nearly one-third of the country's tire waste annually. The company provides crumb rubber, feedstock for molded products, rubber mulch, tire-derived fuel and other recycled rubber products.
