CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Feb. 11, 2010)—BASF Corp. is set to increase prices for its Butonal, Butofan, Styrofan and Styronal products in the U.S. and Canada.
All changes will be effective Feb. 15 or as contracts allow.
Butonal and Butofan styrene-butadiene high and medium solids latex products will increase by up to 8 cents per wet pound. These lines are used as ingredients for various applications in the adhesives, carpet, construction, fiber bonding, automotive and foam markets.
Styrofan and Styronal styrene-butadiene latex products will increase by up to 6 cents per wet pound. They are used as ingredients for various applications in the adhesives, architectural coatings, sealants, construction, paper and nonwovens markets.
This action is necessary as a result of increases in the prices of raw materials, BASF said.
