MARCO ISLAND, Fla. (Feb. 9, 2010)—Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions has launched a national brand advertising campaign highlighting its ability to customize complete tire programs for individual fleets.
The campaign debuted Feb. 6, during the firm's annual meeting for Bridgestone, Firestone and Bandag dealers in Marco Island. BBTS said it encourages fleets to consider what distinguishes the BBTS network—the company's personalized approach. The ads will appear in trade publications for truck fleets and commercial tire dealers.
“The campaign features images of trucks built out of thumbprints illustrating the personalized solutions that BBTS develops for customers and highlighting the company's understanding that every fleet seeks to lower its overall operating costs,” said Tim Chen, BBTS vice president of marketing. “This campaign is also symbolic of all the touch points that our teammates have in building a personal relationship with the customer.”
BBTS also introduced during the meeting the Firestone FT455 PLUS trailer tire and Bandag-brand BDR-HT3 tread especially for less-than-truckload fleet customers operating single-axle tractors.
Built for exceptional fuel efficiency without sacrificing removal mileage, the FT455 PLUS is approved for use on Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay-certified equipment and is ideal for fleets running California Air Resources Board-compliant vehicles, according to BBTS.
The tire, available in March, is designed for free-rolling positions, including trailer axles, tag axles and converter dollies. The tire promotes long, even wear with its five-rib design and shallow 12/32-inch original tread depth, BBTS said. For added durability, solid shoulder ribs combat tearing and chunking damage that can occur from curbing.
The company said the BDR-HT3 is built with a 28/32-inch tread design for traction and long wear. Used in the drive axle position, the new BDR-HT3 incorporates an innovative tread compound and tread pattern that resists tears and delivers outstanding mileage and exceptional wear.
