MUMBAI, India (Jan. 25, 2010)—JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. in the quarter ended Dec. 31 bounced back from a loss, while sales remained flat.
The company posted pretax profits of $11.6 million, compared with a loss of about $8 million in the three-month period a year earlier. Sales totaled about $172 million.
A three-month strike by workers at a JK Tyre plant in Rajasthan, India, substantially affected the tire maker's results, the firm said.
