CLEVELAND (Jan. 18, 2010)—Eaton Corp. said it will make a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross International Disaster Relief Fund to help the humanitarian efforts in the Republic of Haiti, following the devastation Jan. 12 earthquake at that island nation.
The Red Cross fund provides immediate and long-term relief through supplies and technical assistance.
Eaton also said it will match employees' donations to the United Way Worldwide Disaster Relief Fund, which uses its resources on long-term recovery efforts to rebuild lives and infrastructure. The fund also addresses educational, financial, and health-related challenges.
Eaton said its employees have donated nearly $400,000 since 2005 to help world catastrophic events, and the company matched those funds. Also, the Eaton Charitable Fund in 2008 donated almost $8 million to various charitable organizations worldwide.
