BOWIE, Md. (Jan. 11, 2010)—The Tire Industry Association is preparing comments for the Specialty Equipment Market Association on ways to make the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas more relevant to the tire industry.
In response to SEMA's solicitation of feedback from the tire industry, TIA hosted a Dec. 17 focus group meeting attended by representatives of major tire manufacturers, TIA said in a press release. The Bowie-based trade association said it is working with the tire makers to compile the recommendations made at the meeting and will present those recommendations to SEMA for its consideration.
TIA said it hoped SEMA could implement the recommendations in time for this year's show, which is scheduled for the first week of November in Las Vegas.
“TIA wants to show tire manufacturers that we are serious about gaining their input on how the SEMA show can be made even better,” said TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield. The focus group meeting on the SEMA show could lead to further meetings on topics important to the tire industry, he added.
