NEW YORK (Nov. 24, 2009)—The Woodlands, Texas-based Huntsman Corp. has been challenged to explain its sales of polyurethane in Iran by the organization United Against Nuclear Iran.
UANI President Mark Wallace sent a letter to Huntsman Chairman Jon Huntsman, asking him to clarify whether the Iran could use the polyurethanes to produce solid fuel technology.
Wallace said “even the smallest chance of this potential dual-use is cause for great concern by the international community,” in his letter, the UANI said.
“Even in the case that Huntsman is certain that its use of its polyurethanes is completely harmless, UANI calls on Huntsman to cease doing business in Iran,” Wallace wrote.
Huntsman has yet to respond.
