NEW DELHI (Nov. 19, 2009)—Honeywell Specialty Materials said it will invest $34 million in a technology center in Gurgaon, India, to expand its global research capabilities in refining, petrochemical, fluorine and other technologies.
The 400,000-sq.-ft center, to be located at an existing Honeywell site, will primarily house pilot plants for developing and demonstrating refining and petrochemical process technology.
The center also will include labs for process and applications development for other technology areas, including fluorine products and nylon materials.
The center is expected to employ 100 within five years. Honeywell's fluorine products group develops blowing agents for polyurethane foam.
