DUBNICA, Slovakia (Nov. 11, 2009)—Machinery maker Qingdao Mesnac Co. Ltd. has opened a European subsidiary to design equipment for the European tire and rubber market.
The Mesnac European Research and Technical Centre is led by Karol Vanko and staffed entirely by former employees of Continental Machinery, which recently closed the former Matador Machinery operations in Puchov, Slovakia.
The center will concentrate on designing rubber machines according to customer requirements and latest world trends, the firm said.
Qingdao Mesnac currently works in the mixing area and testing equipment. Through the former Matador operations, the European operation is intended to help the parent company become a world leader in tire-building and curing, too, the company said.
The center also will have a service center for existing machinery, opening on Jan. 1.
