LEHIGH Valley, Pa. (Oct. 26, 2009)—Air Products and Chemicals Co. has signed an agreement to sell its urethane prepolymers business to Coim USA Inc.
Also included in the deal is Air Products' plant in Paulsboro, N.J., Terms of the transaction weren't disclosed.
The polyurethane prepolymers business markets its products under the Airthane and Versathane trade names.
The acquisition by Coim, a subsidiary of global polyurethane chemicals producer COIM S.p.A., will allow the company to complete its Imuthane product portfolio with established low free monomer technology, according to Lucio Siano, who said Airthane and Versathane will benefit from the up-stream integration provided by Coim's West Deptford, N.J., facility.
