WASHINGTON (Oct. 16, 2009)—The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy have jointly issued the 2010 Fuel Economy Guide, which informs consumers about estimated fuel costs and mileage standards for the vehicles of model year 2010.
The guide gives an estimated annual fuel cost for every vehicle it lists, based on the miles per gallon the vehicle obtains and national estimates for annual mileage and fuel prices, EPA and DOE said. The online version also allows motorists to enter their personal driving habits and local gasoline prices to obtain their own estimates. The guide is readily accessible from mobile devices, smart phones and personal digital assistants, the agencies said.
