EAST LANSING, Mich. (Oct. 12, 2008)—The West Michigan Rubber Group is inviting rubber industry members and interested high school students to attend a “Focus on Ferris” program at the National Elastomers Center on the campus of Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., Nov. 4.
The WMRG said students currently in the FSU program will showcase their skills to prospective employers, while high school students will learn from their peers about considering a career in thee rubber industry.
The program will include tours and demonstrations at the National Elastomers Center, with various work stations manned by FSU Rubber Technology Students. Student presentations will be made at the center, with a reception and dinner planned with the WMRG at the Holiday Inn.
The WMRG asked its members to inform local high schools and vocational and technical schools about the program. The activity costs $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
