TOKYO (Oct. 12, 2009)—Tokai Rubber Industries has said it will substantially reduce production of automotive hoses in North America as part of a restructuring plan in the wake of the recession.
The company said it will cease production of rubber and plastic hose at its plant in Ohio known as DTR-Ohio. The plant will continue to make rubber anti-vibration products. The plant at DTR Tennessee will stop making plastic hose, though rubber hose production will continue there.
Production will be transferred to the company's plants in China, Tokai said in a press release.
