PITTSBURGH (Sept. 10, 2009)—Lewis-Goetz and Co. Inc. has acquired the assets of International Gasket and Supply, a Houston-based subsidiary of Leader Global Technologies. Terms of the transaction, finalized Aug. 31, weren't disclosed.
IGS specializes in the fabrication and supply of specialty gaskets, bolts and sealing products for the oil and gas exploration, petroleum refining and specialty chemical industries.
The acquisition is an important part of Lewis-Goetz's strategic growth plans, according to Jeff Crane, Lewis-Goetz president and CEO. He said the Gulf Coast is the largest end market for the firm's fabricated products in North America, and the previous purchases of Goodall Rubber in 2006 and Samson Industrial in 2007 gave an initial foothold in the region.
“IGS is yet another opportunity for us to demonstrate our commitment to those markets and the important national customers that operate there,” Crane said. “It also provides the opportunity to expand our product offering.”
