FORT MILL, S.C. (Aug. 27, 2009)—Continental Tire North America Inc. has released its HTR2 all position, wide-base tire for construction vehicles.
The tire, which replaces the HTR, is being produced at Conti's plant in Mount Vernon, Ill. Conti said the redesigned tire offers 20 percent more wear volume than its predecessor through a wider tread pattern and tread depth that has been increased to 22/32 inch.
Among the HTR2's features are tread grooves designed for reduced stone trapping, a cut- and chip-resistant tread compound that improves endurance and a 5 percent reduction in rolling resistance for greater fuel efficiency. It also includes a reinforced steel core bead to promote stiffness and retreadability, Conti said.
The HTR2 is rated for load range L and is available in 385/65R22.5 and 445/65R22.5 sizes.
