LEVERKUSEN, Germany (Aug. 13, 2009)—Lanxess A.G. said it is ready to take its Nanoprene product into series production, and also declines in sales and profits for the three months ended June 30.
The German synthetic rubber producer said Nanoprene can improve tire performance. Lanxess said the new nanoparticles used as an additive can improve wet grip, rolling resistance and service life of tires without having to make compromises.
In its financial report, the firm said its net income fell nearly 70 percent in the quarter to $24.3 million on a 30-percent drop in sales to $1.77 billion.
