EXTON, Pa. (Aug. 6, 2009)-RubberNetwork L.L.C., the supply chain consortium of 10 primarily tire manufacturers, has merged with Elemica Inc., a supply chain services provider.
Operating under the Elemica name, the combined company will provide greater supply chain efficiencies and cost savings for global manufacturers, according to the companies. No financial details of the agreement were provided.
RubberNetwork formed in 2000 and said it has sourced about $10 billion in products, generating savings of about $1 billion for its members. Its members are Kumho Tire Co. Inc., Continental A.G., Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Goodyear, Hankook Tire Co. Ltd., Michelin, Pirelli & C. S.p.A., Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd., Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. and Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd.
Elemica annually processes more than $50 billion in transactions in multiple industries, and said it has 2,500 partners connected to its supply chain network. Among its clients are Dow Chemical Co. DuPont Co. and Lanxess A.G.
