LEVERKUSEN, Germany (July 24, 2009)—Lanxess A.G.'s Technical Rubber Products business unit plans to raise prices for EPDM globally effective Aug. 1.
Dependent on regions and rubber grades, the price will be increased by up to $250 per metric ton, the company said. The adjustment is being made because of rising costs of raw materials since the beginning of the year.
Lanxess markets its EPDM products under the Buna EP brand. The elastomer is used in a broad range of applications, including the production of hoses, gaskets, seals, floor coverings and cable sheathings.
