LEVERKUSEN, Germany (July 16, 2009)—Bayer MaterialScience L.L.C. has lifted the force majeure declaration it made July 8 for the polyurethane raw material toluene diisocyanate in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The company said the damage to its chlorine electrolysis plant in Brunsbuttel, Germany, caused by power failure as the result of storms, has been repaired. The TDI facility has returned to normal production.
