HORGEN, Switzerland (July 14, 2009)—Dow Europe GmbH is increasing its prices for all synthetic rubber grades in European, Middle Eastern, African and Indian regions.
The price increases, effective July 27, are as follows:
* Styrene butadiene rubber will increase by $278 per metric ton; and
* Polybutadiene synthetic rubber will increase by $334 per metric ton.
Dow said that recent price developments on the monomer side, especially on butadiene, have forced the company to “increase prices globally in order to keep its long term sustainability.”
