INDIANAPOLIS (July 1, 2009)—Firestone Building Products Co. L.L.C. has awarded two scholarships.
The Firestone Scholarship was awarded to Laura Stabile of Wolcott, Conn., as part of The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress' annual Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship program.
The Firestone Platinum Scholarship was awarded to Britney Curtis of West Chester, Pa., as part of the North East Roofing Educational Foundation scholarship program.
The Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship provides recipients with $5,000 per year based on eligibility for up to four years of enrollment in accredited university or vocational programs.
National Roofing Cantractors Association member contractor or supplier company employees or immediate family members are eligible for the merit-based scholarships.
The NEREF scholarship program awards 12 $2,500 scholarships for a total of $30,000 each year for full-time study at an accredited post-secondary institution of the student's choice.
The program is designed to assist members of the North East Roofing Contractors Association, their employees and their respective immediate family members, who plan to pursue post-secondary education in college and vocational programs.
