GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 12, 2009)-Michelin North America Inc. and the Clemson University Automotive Safety Research Institute are celebrating National Tire Safety Week by opening the Michelin Tire Inflation Station in Greenville.
The new station is located on the entrance level of the AutoPark at the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research. Marked with a six-foot statue of the Michelin Man, the station is intended to be a visible reminder to drivers to check their tire pressures.
"Accurate tire inflation pressure is one of the most easily managed-and one of the most easily overlooked-aspects of automotive safety," said Kim Alexander, executive director of the CU-ICAR.
