CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (June 1, 2009)—Pathway Polymers Inc. has sold its Puma Polymers division to two former executives, James Sowersby, chief strategy officer, and President Garrett Peters.
The division will be named Puma Polymers L.L.C. and remain housed in Chattanooga.
The purchase includes a variety of specialized urethane products, including Por-a-Mold, mold making elastomers for the precast concrete industry; Por-a-Thane, hot cast elastomers used for high performance industrial applications; and Por-a-Kast, high hardness urethanes for casting, molding and specialty adhesives.
In addition, the newly created firm will continue to offer Puma-Bond, bonding agents for urethane-to-metal and urethane-to-rubber applications; Puma-Coat in-mold paints; the Masterworks brand of acrylic modified gypsum; and the SynLube brand of mold release.
Pathway Polymers, a subsidiary of the Vita Group p.l.c. and a leader in the tire flatproofing industry, will retain its Tolling and TyrFil divisions, which produce the firm's TyrFil Flatproofing, Tyrliner, TyrKast, Sealant and Ballast product lines along with its AutoFil and TrioFil recycler machines for use in industrial and construction tires.
