NYNASHAMN, Sweden (May 20. 2009)—Specialty oils company Nynas has opened an R&D facility in Sweden, which will serve as a smaller version of Nynas' full-scale hydrogenation facility.
The site is part of a $3.7 million investment in new research and development facilities at the company's refinery in Nynäshamn. This investment is part of the company's on-going expansion in the world market for specialty oils.
Nynas said it can now test new products, develop existing products and also produce plans for an enlargement of the hydrogenation facilities at the refinery. Nynas also will use the facility to evaluate new crude oils and catalysts for future use in the refinery process.
