INDIAN LAND, S.C. (May 13, 2009) - Continental Tire North America Inc.´s commercial truck tires have been named standard equipment on all Freightliner Trucks´ Business Class M2 medium-duty trucks.
Daimler Trucks North America L.L.C., parent company of Freightliner Trucks, has also made Indian Land-based Continental´s truck tires optional on several of its other brands. Those include Western Star trucks, Thomas Built buses, Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. chassis and all other Freightliner vehicles.
Customers will be able to choose from several Conti offerings like the HSR2 regional steer tire, replacing the HSR, which was introduced in 2002. Customers for waste hauling, construction and other on/off highway applications will be able to choose the new HSU2 tire designed for urban applications, according to Conti.
Freightliner´s Business Class M2 is available in multiple cab configurations and supports a wide range of bodies and chassis-mounted equipment. The trucks can be used for applications such as towing, pickup and delivery, food and beverage distribution, emergency services, utility and garbage collection, Conti said.
