MOSCOW (April 15, 2009)—Swedish specialty oil maker Nynas A.B. said it is opening new sales office in Moscow, and plans to expand its refinery in Nynashamn, Sweden
The firm said that within seven years Russia will be an important European market for the company for sales of specialty oils to various industries. The customers that Nynas primarily is targeting are tire, rubber and plastics, and electric transformer manufacturers.
Deliveries to the tire industry will be increasing during the next few years thanks to a European Union decision to ban highly aromatic oils in tire production, starting next years. These are to be replaced by cleaner, more highly refined oils.
Nynas said it has developed alternative, environmentally sound tire oils, which will be produced and marketed through the company's global organization.
