FINDLAY, Ohio (March 26, 2009)—Ohio has awarded $2.25 million in grants to Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. to fund renovations of its Findlay tire plant.
The Ohio Department of Development issued the economic development grants to aid business growth and retention of jobs in the state.
Findlay-based Cooper will receive a $2 million Job Ready Sites Grant and a $250,000 Rapid Outreach Grant to help fund the tire maker's $37 million consolidation project, which includes infrastructure improvement, site preparation and purchase of machinery and equipment at its Findlay plant.
This project is expected to retain 1,192 jobs, according to the state.
