CLEVELAND (Feb. 12, 2009)—Polymer Diagnostics Inc. is now offering testing services to monitor compliance with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act.
The act establishes a federal ban on the sale of products intended for children younger than 12 that contain more than 0.1 percent of six phthalate plasticizers.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has given manufacturers one year to test and fulfill certification requirements, but products must still comply with the act as of Feb. 10.
