LYMINGTON, England (Jan. 28, 2009)—Tape maker Scapa Group has cut 140 jobs because of the poor economy, and is considering closing a plant in France.
Besides slicing 11 percent of its workforce, it is discussing the future of a factory in Bellegarde, France, with employee representatives, Scapa said.
The firm said its sales have plummeted since November 2008 because of economic downturn. The company makes adhesive tapes for automotive, industrial and medical applications.
