BOLLATE, Italy (Nov. 26, 2008) — Solvay Solexis plans to suspend production at its Tecnoflon fluoroelastomer plants during December because of declining demand.
The company said closing the Thorofare, N.J., and Spinetta Marengo, Italy, facilities for the month will help it avoid creating overcapacity.
Solvay Solexis blamed the economic crisis, particularly in the automotive industry, for an excess inventory situation.
