GREENVILLE, S.C. (Nov. 3, 2008)—The BFGoodrich-brand farm tire line will be discontinued Dec. 31, according to Michelin North America Inc., which makes the tires in Europe and sells them in North America.
The firm said it will phase out the last of the brand still available, the Power Radial 80, and convert the production capacity devoted to making the tire to producing Michelin-branded agricultural tires.
“The decision to discontinue the BFGoodrich Power Radial 80 tire will augment our capacity to better serve both the replacement and the original equipment markets with our premium Michelin-brand tires,” said Bill Schafer, vice president of sales and marketing for Michelin ag tires in North America.
“The decision helps focus the company's resources and energies on the continued, sustainable growth of Michelin-brand agricultural tires in North America.”
