NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 13, 2008) — Bridgestone/Firestone will return as the National Football League's International Series title sponsor, following a successful first overseas game last season.
In the return of the series, the San Diego Chargers will take on the New Orleans Saints Oct. 26 at Wembley Stadium in London. CBS will broadcast the game live in the U.S., one of more than 200 countries that will televise the event.
Nashville-based BFS said it will benefit during the game from field-level LED boards displaying its brand logos, stadium signage and print program ads, among other forms of advertising. The company also will be the presenting sponsor of the pre-game show on Sky Sports.
Last season, the NFL held its first United Kingdom-hosted game featuring the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins. The Giants won the game 13-10 in front of a crowd of more than 81,000.
